| CUBA: May will receive the First Assembly of Poets of the World in Cuba La Isla en Versos (The Island in verses). From the 1st to the 11th, there will be poetry readings, lectures, meetings with publishing houses and visits to places of historical and cultural interest. The Assembly is convened by the House of Iberoamerica, an institution that promotes academic, artistic and cultural exchange all year round, as part of the actions carried out by this institution during May Pilgrimage, the World Festival of Artistic Youths, arriving to its 19th edition in 2012. With the peculiarity of interacting with the artists from all over the world meeting there, the trip will start in the Eastern province of Holguin, to arrive later at Santiago of Cuba and, finally, Havana, visiting the three most important cities of the island. It will be co-sponsored by the Saíz Brothers Association and the National Union of Writers and Artists of Cuba, where the artistic the artistic forefront of the country is grouped. The island and its circumstances have inspired musicians, writers, and all kinds of creators throughout time. May this poetic encounter be useful to locate it one more time, like a muse capable of building with words great bridges of friendship, solidarity and love. | LA ISLA EN VERSOS I Encuentro de Poetas del Mundo en Cuba. Del 1 al 11 de mayo de 2012 CUBA - Olguín, Santiago, La Habana: El mes de mayo acogerá el primer encuentro de Poetas del Mundo en Cuba La Isla en versos. Entre el 1 y el 11 de ese mes se desarrollarán lecturas poéticas, presentaciones de ponencias, encuentros con editoriales y visitas a sitios de interés histórico-cultural. El encuentro es convocado desde la Casa de Iberoamérica, institución que promueve el intercambio académico, artístico y cultural durante todo el año, como parte de sus acciones dentro de las Romerías de Mayo, Festival Mundial de Juventudes Artísticas que en 2012 arribará su XIX edición. Con la peculiaridad de compartir con los artistas de todas partes del mundo que allí se darán cita, la travesía iniciará por la nororiental provincia de Holguín, para luego arribar a Santiago de Cuba y, por último, a La Habana, en un recorrido por toda la isla y estancia en sus tres ciudades más importantes. | POR FIN EN NUESTRA TIERRA DEL 01 AL 10 DE JUNIO 2012 Primer Encuentro de PPdM: Tras las Huellas del Poeta Ahora en Colombia. Por Astrid Sofía Pedraza de la Hoz* COLOMBIA-Cartagena de Indias: En Chile, en octubre nace el primer encuentro Tras las Huellas del Poeta y a la vez nace también Poetas del Mundo (PPdM), un movimiento internacional de poetas que ponen su arte al servicio de la humanidad. No está ligado a ningún gobierno o institución política, ni religiosa, ni de ningún tipo. En lo económico, es totalmente independiente, no recibe ayuda alguna para funcionar, se autofinancia gracias al apoyo de algunos poetas que lo hacen de manera voluntaria. Participar en PPdM no tiene costo alguno. PPdM fue fundado el 14 de octubre 2005 en Chile por el escritor chileno Luis Arias Manzo, en poco tiempo se convierte en el principal gremio de poetas del planeta reuniendo ya a casi de8.000 (ocho mil) miembros de más de ciento veinte países de los cinco continentes. Uno de sus principales objetivos es convertir la palabra en una fuerza real capaz de influir en los destinos de la sufrida humanidad y en el equilibro del amenazado planeta. Es con esta organización planetaria que damos un paso trascendental para tener en nuestra querida Colombia un evento poético de las mismas características que el de Chile, donde por siete veces ya ha conocido grandes éxitos y ha movilizado a poetas de todo el mundo bajo los lemas de la paz, el amor, la justicia, la solidaridad y la ecología. | Octubre: Tras las Huellas del Poeta 8° Encuentro Internacional de Poesía. Del 16 al 28 de octubre 2012 CHILE-Santiago: Como ya es una tradición, el Movimiento Poetas del Mundo organiza su 8º Encuentro Internacional de Poesía en Chile denominado OCTUBRE: Tras las Huellas del Poeta. El evento se desarrollará en las ciudades de Santiago, Valparaíso, Viña del Mar, Isla Negra, Cartagena, Melipilla, Rancagua, Chillán, Los Vilos, Illapel, Canela Coquimbo, La Serena, Vicuña y Montegrande. Serán 13 días en que poetas de diversos países y continentes estarán recorriendo 3 MIL kilómetros aproximadamente, compartiendo momentos inolvidables y creando lazos poéticos por la vida, la paz, el medio ambiente y el amenazado proyecto humano.
